About Joanne
Joanne is a 4th generation Equestrian. Her mother and father rode, as did her grandparents on both sides.
Her Great Grand Father was well known for his "Magnificent Team of Horses". He was envied throughout his
home town in Wisconsin. Joanne was born with a strong love and insight for horses. She was introduced to
them right away and got her first horse at age 7. Her belief is "Horse savvy can most certainly be learned but
it is also hereditary."

By the time she was ten, she was already training horses that had never been ridden or had any ground
work. At a young age, family and friends said she was born with a unique gift for reading and communicating
with horses. She has been successful with a variety of horses that were deemed untouchable. By the time
she was eleven, she and her father would buy horses that were not in a good home and Joanne rehabilitated
them. Not only had the horses lived with neglect of care, they lacked in neglect of training. They knew nothing
and were leery of people. Joanne worked with them and when she felt they were ready, she sold them into a
home where they would be loved. Then she and her father would set off in search of their next horse for
Joanne to train and re-home. She not only trained ground work and saddle work but also taught a few to pull.
In the course of this time, she competed in speed and gaming events. By the time she reached the age of 18,
Joanne bought, trained and re homed over 20 horses. A few she kept as her personal horse(s).Some of
these were stud's, one of whom Joanne trained when she was 12. That stud became one of her favorites.
She rode him consistently on trail.  Over the course of her teen years, she worked at a large, busy barn
where she dabbled in dressage. In addition to training and trail riding, Joanne competed in speed events,
where she and her horses were successful. Until this time she had never taken a formal lesson. Everything
learned was taught by horses - teaching in ways that at times were more beneficial than any instructor
training. During her teen years, Joanne apprenticed with an english riding instructor, managed her own
boarding stable, tending to several boarders' horses along with her own, and gave lessons to the local
community.

Joanne spent 4 1/2  years in England, where she spent some of her time at the British barns but she
currently lives in Molino, FL, which is located north of Pensacola, but travels locally for her work with horses.
She regularly attends courses, workshops, and self study to further her skills and qualifications. She still has
the competitive drive and competes along side her 11 year old daughter in competitive trail and endurance.
She plans on competing much more this year. She trail rides with her family - known as the Gaiting 5. She
and her husband ride Walking Horses while their three children ride Paso Fino's  on trail. She is the
instructor/coach of her three children and supports her two girls when they compete. They are successful in
barrel racing and a variety of western/english classes and soon will be entering the Paso Fino ring and drill.

In addition to her Horsemanship skills, Joanne also has experience working with children which enhance
her skills as a riding instructor/coach. While in England, she worked on the Military Base at the Child
Development Center for 3 1/2  years as an Administration Assistant. Although not directly working with
children, this position demanded hands-on situations with the children and required background checks as
well as up-to-date Red Cross CPR certification. She also taught Religious education for over 7 years to
grades 2 - 11. This position also required a background check.

In addition to her life with children outside the home, Joanne has enjoyed Motherhood for 22 years. She has
4 children; ages 22, 11, 10 and 7.
